Saturday June 2, 2012 @ 10 AM: Diamond Jubilee Open House
We'll be sampling tea and biscuits, and we'll have the best selection of Jubilee merchandise this side of the pond. Shop early, because the first 100 people to spend a minimum of $10 win a free GOODIE BAG (one per family, while stocks last.) Come in and have your picture taken with the Queen (as represented by our lifesize cardboard cutout), sign the Memory Book we'll be sending to Buckingham Palace, and watch some of the images from her life.
Thursday May 17th, 7 PM "Delicious Dickens": A Charles Dickens Bicentenary Evening and Food Drive
Come and celebrate the life of England's famed Victorian author for an evening of Delicious Dickens! Our special guest Professor Don Vann and his wife Dolores will give a talk on Dickens & Food at our store. There'll also be a reading from a Dickens novel and complimentary tea and refreshments. Also present will be Stephanie Miller from Tea in Texas Magazine, who will give free copies of her publication to attendees. This event is free, In honour of Dickens' philanthropic spirit, but donations of canned food for GRACE Food Pantry are encouraged.
Saturday, May 12 @ 1PM: Queen Lookalike Contest and Corgi Dog Show!
Ladies, put on your finest regal outfit! Prizes will be awarded to the most inspired royal costumes! Who among you owns a Corgi that Her Majesty would be proud to call her own? Bring them over and show them off outside our store -- the competition could be ruff!

Sunday June 3, 2012 noon: Jubilee Luncheon Party at Cross Timbers Winery SOLD OUT
As the celebrations of the reign of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II reach their festive climax in England, The British Emporium in Grapevine will be hosting our own party! From 12 PM until 3 PM at Cross Timbers Winery in Grapevine, we'll present our own Jubilee Luncheon. Expect bangers and mash, a series of toasts, rare historic films of Her Majesty's Coronation that took place June 2 1953, and more! This will be an unforgettable, once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate our historic heritage!
